Stay away from this place! We sat down and my 3 year old was eating when a cockroach started crawling towards his plate. Immediately, we got up and told the cashier. Without a word, she said she would get her manager. Manager comes back and while they’re walking towards us, she’s laughing. Doesn’t even ask about the cockroach or apologize but just goes straight to the register to give us a refund. I asked her if this happens often because of how nonchalant she was and how she was laughing and she laughs and says “no, I was laughing at something else. Pest control is coming tomorrow.” So disturbing to see a restaurant serve the public while being aware there’s an active cockroach infestation.

We walked out when we saw the lack of food choices. Upon walking in, there was no one working at the cash register—which, if you think about it; is a weak internal control at this location. So, while waiting for someone to come—we walked around the buffet to view the food options. Needless to say, the food appeared to look uncooked and to us it seemed like the chefs were in a rush. Last time, I was here in 2023, and there was a higher variety of food options and we could easily find an employee.

Food: 4/5 (Food is surprisingly good!) Service: 4/5 (Service is good) Atmosphere: 4/5 (Comfortable environment) All you can eat meals taste great when they are made right. Golden Corral Buffet & Grill. Lunch and dinner comes with soup and salad bar, rolls, and many desserts! The steaks, ribs, and seafood is not bad at all. Located in Gurnee, Illinois, this family restaurant is good for all eaters, and has many choices to choose from. The food is good! Diverse menu, options for all eaters, and food stay warmer in the warmers. After I finished ribs and fish, I ran to get ice cream. Eat good all in one place. The service is great! Love the friendly staff that helped us with everything we asked. Our water cups stayed full, and the server took great care of us. Great service! The environment is inviting, clean, and comfortable. The staff stay on top of the cleaniness for customers to enjoy their meal. Parking is great in the free parking lot. Wheelchair accessible entrance, and price point is $10-20 per person.

Food was good! Very friendly. Food was hot like it should be. Other golden corrals not so hot of food. Our waitress was not very good at attending to our drinks. Didn’t fill any the whole time! Also ran off people off her section to other areas!

This one star is a management rating. Updtaed Feb23. Place has gone completely down hill since last visit 3 weeks ago. One server in the entire restaurant. I see him carring back breaking bus buckets of dirty plates. Hes moving fast as a server can safely move. The kitchen is short staffed. The dessert bar is a mess. You should be warning people at register you only have one server, ask them to be patient. Rather than your current approach, take their money and let them find out.
